The only advice that I know works is the plain old burn more calories than you consume. Not the most fun or glamorous way but I have lost tons of weight counting my calories in the past. Cut out all sweets, pop, and refined sugar too. Whenever I cut those 3 things out I got skinnier than when I was anorexic but I was eating all the time.

Exercising is simple too. Take a walk 1-2 times a day and do arm curls with .Gabriel. I know that there are allot of "mommy and baby" exercises out there that help.

Remember to only go for losing between 2-3 lbs a week. If you lose more than that (even if you have excess fat) then you will be losing heart mass and other organ mass.

GL! This has all worked for me in the past but it takes time. It never happened overnight.

I was going to say about the same thing. i'm trying to cut out obvious sugar intake (i'm addicted.) I know another thing to eliminate if possible is dining out and meals that you buy pre-done at the grocery store (not the frozen diet food trays per sae) they tend to have a lot of extra random calories you can eliminate by cooking yourself (oil, butter and such.)

I started trying the nutrisystem diet, but the food was gross and then I went to the weight watchers core diet and now I really don't follow any diet, I just cut out sugar, starches and carbs. The carbs is hard, but I just don't eat rice, pasta, corn, potatoes or any white breads. I eat tons of vegtables, and eat whole grain foods if I do eat carbs. I eat whole grain pita and wraps for sandwitches, and sugar free everything. I have been on this diet for about a month and have lost about 10 pounds.

Good luck Very Happy

yup, counting calories and exercising. i lost weight that way before my wedding and it was pretty easy. find out what you are supposed to consume then subtract like 300 a day from it and exercise! for me it was hard not to eat all the sweets btu after like a week i stopped craving them.

This is my typical day of eating.

Breakfast - weight control oatmeal and a bananna. Or I have those special k bars and a bananna. Or dannon low sugar, low carb yogurt smoothies

snack - apple or bananna

Lunch - whole grain pita or wrap and either tuna, turkey or ham and lettuce and a little bit of cheese. Or I take some lowfat soup and about 5 saltine crackers. Cut up celery and carrots, low fat yogurt, another piece of fruit, and sugar free jello.

Snack - string cheese (low fat) or more fruit

Dinner - salad with sugar free fat free raspberry vinegrette, small piece of chicken, pork, beef, or a plain hamburger (no bun, sometimes cheese) whole grain pasta, tuna salad. Whatever dh and I are in the mood for. I usually eat a bunch of vegtables. DH is great at stirfry veggies, so I usually leave that up to him, but if he doesn't want to make them, I have these frozen boxes of green beans and brocalli that I usually make and eat the whole dang thing. I have to make a starch for dh but I usually dont have any, or maybe just a bite or two so satisfy the craving. I never have bread at dinner and if dh wants some he usually toasts a piece of bread for himself.

I drink tons of water a day and have cut out soda all together. I love those crystal light on the go packets. They make your boring water taste like kool-aid without all the sugar.

I keep this diet all week, but I have a harder times when I am not at work on the weekends. I usually let mysellf splerge on Saturdays, and get right back on track on Sunday. It seems to work.

as far as exercise, I do situps, arm curls and run up and down our stairs for about 20 minutes every other day during the week.

There are a million calorie counters on the web. Count calories. Weight loss is 80% what you eat. If you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight.

All those diets and fads tend to be on the unhealthy side. Our bodies need a certain amount of fats, but not an overload of fats. We also need some carbs.

Read labels. Don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup. Most things with HFC are empty calories that you don't need.

Don't forget to count the calories of everything you eat. We forget how often we snack and those snacks add up fast.

Did you know that a typical drive thru meal at the Mcd's has more calories than most people need in a day?
