Hi All,
About ten days ago I had an episode where I began having pain in my right side, below/along the bottom of my rib cage. The pain grew throughout the day - and eventually lead to excessive vomitting.

I decided to take a nap and awoke several times to a severe clenching pain in that side and in the middle of my chest. (between the breastbone, bottom).

I went to my doctor the next morning. He asked me some questions about food, etc. I did think that I was reacting to having eaten, etc. He also asked me if I burped alot...and strangely...I have been.

But, my bloodwork just came back okay - and so did an ultrasound.
He suspected gallbladder disease and now wants to have me take a HIDA scan a week from Friday.

Does this sound appropriate to anyone? I found that the week after my appointment staying on a liquid diet did help me. I began eating Sunday and of course, the pain came back. The pain does seem to come and go..but not nearly as bad as when I eat. I would say that on a day where I don't eat...it's more of nagging burn in my side.

Is the time length for my tests normal? I never really get sick and I'm not sure how much of it all I can take during the next week.
Also, despite being a liquid diet for over seven days...and not eating a thing....I didn't lose a single pound. Even I was amazed.

I would really appreciate any advice/experiences you can share...I'm feeling very discouraged. The pain is very real and completely annoying.

That is exactly what happened to me, before i had my gall blatter out.
I believe, from what you are saying, this is the gall blatter.
I also would like to tell you, after having the gall blatter out didnt mean i could eat anything i wanted again, nope, in fact, if i eat food with to much grease i wont be coming off the toliet.
Just wanted to let you know, after having your gall blatter out, pick up some caltrate 600 Plus with vitamin D and minerals.
Wish you luck.
