Seasonique/ortho-tricyclin/ortho Evra

I'm on my tenth week of Seasonique now and I feel horrid. My previous two forms of BC were nothing like this.

I took Ortho-tricyclin Lo for over two years. I had minor nausea for the first few months until my body got used to it because I had never been on BC before. I was using it to calm my bad cramps that have almost caused me to pass out. It worked for that, and I enjoyed having my period every 28 days instead of my natural 22-23.

I moved out of state and my new gyno suggested the patch. I had problems with the corners peeling up and with it leaving a sticky mess when it was time to take it off. It was hard to find a convenient place to put it. I ended up settling on alternating between the left and right pelvic area, but after months of doing that, those two areas became dry and red and constantly sticky. I don't know if I was having a reaction to the adhesive, which is possible because some medical tapes do the same thing to me. I liked only having to think about it once a week, but after a year of being on it, I started to forget to change it at the same time every Sunday. I got married by this point so I was also using it as BC, but I was never worried about being pregnant. My period came exactly four days after taking the patch off, practically to the hour.

But...I moved to another state again, and my new gyno refused to prescribe the patch. The last time I had gone to my 2nd gyno, she had been reluctant to prescribe it, as she had just gotten the news about the possible heart problems that day. She gave it to me anyway because I'm a healthy young adult with zero risk factors. This new gyno I just went to was pushing Seasonique really hard. He pretty much didn't want to give me anything else, which is enough to make me go somewhere else. But I decided to give it a try anyway, since he gave me six months of it free. Ugh...very bad decision. I have felt sick for the last five weeks, like I've had constant PMS. For the last week and a half, I've had spotting. I've never spotted before. The mood swings are horrendous, I'm constantly tired but irritable to the point where I can't sleep so I end up crying in bed for two hours, hot flashes and cold chills, gained five pounds when I'm very stable with my weight and I exercise regularly, breaking out all the time, no sex drive whatsoever... I tried calling my gyno today but of course by the time I got home from work, I only got the answering service.

I'm not sure I can find a gyno to prescribe me the patch (or that I want to deal with the sticky mess again). Even if I do, I've had problems with the pharmacy having the patch in stock. I'm scared of all the side effects everyone has mentioned with the Nuvaring. I don't want to do the shot because if I have these ridiculous symptoms I'll be stuck with them until that stuff works its way out of my system. Any suggestions on a BC that won't make me break out, won't drive me insane, won't kill my sex drive and will help with bad cramps?

Oh, and another good thing about the patch...I almost completely stopped breaking out. It was generally confined to one or two the week before my period. I've had five or six all time since starting Seasonique. I probably had two or three consistantly on Ortho-tricyclin.
