Hi Guys Very Happy

My body doesn't have periods on its on anymore...so my last period was in December of 2006.

I went to see my doctor about this...and she put me on the Nuvaring (which I had used previously). I haven't used it since October.

I did leave it in for 3 weeks and took it out (and am now having the most HORRIBLY PAINFUL AND HEAVY PERIOD OF MY LIFE Exclamation )...and I will insert a new ring in on Tuesday.

Any idea on when it is effective?

The documentation that I've read is written in conjunction of a) if you are switching from another birth control....or b) if you insert it on Day 1 (first day of your period). Since I've had no period, I just inserted it whenever.

I'm not sexually active ATM but just wondering "just in case."

Thanks for reading. Wink

As with most horomonal birth control, you will be safe after one week.
