I went outside to smoke while the kids are napping, and i saw an orange tint through the door, i open it and theres a cat laying on the rug, its cold and rainy today, it came in the mudroom part of the house and was purring and rubbing on my legs so i pet it and stuff hehe, i love animals, but it was standing at the door like it wanted in my huose, but it has a flea collar on so i know it belongs to someone, i had to sorta shoe it outside so i could go back in the house, i felt bad for kicking it out in the rain, it was a girl cat i know cuz i shoed it outside and it rolled over and stretched out so i rubbed its belly and she was lickin me and purring, if she didnt have a collar on i prob woulda let her in my house lol, but i had to let her outside so she could go to her home, i think its an outdoor cat i always see it outside and it used to hang out on jasons car when i first got here, i just feel bad for kicking it out back in the rainy cold weather. i stayed out there for alil petting her and stuff but then i was like you gotta go to your home. Im weird like that ill take a stray animal in and feed it and stuff, thats how we got our cat we found him in a ditch in nc, it poured with rain so we went out in the ditch in the pouring rain to rescue the kittens, they werent old they were teeny tiny, salem was the one that came to the food, some of them died but we had that cat since 1998 but when my sister went to fla with her 2 cats salem ran away and hasnt came back yet Sad. i have a soft spot for animals i guess i feel bad for the poor cat but it belongs to someone. Sad

Hey there
Dont worry about it, cats are highly adaptable to almost all kinds of weather (unless you live in alaska), and they can never starve as much cos they always find something, I have 4 cats and I'm a guy lol Smile I keep helping animals in trouble, but in your case I dont think you did very bad thing cos It probably lives around. One of the cats I have is invalid on the back legs, some kid hit him, broke his back and now he lives with me. Was thinking about surgery, went to hospital they did examination and said that there is under 1% chance even with surgery it gonna walk again... Sad I dont want to torchure him even more so I decided not to do the operation, He's pretty happy right now cos he has lots of food, does whatever he wants Smile He even has a girlfriend Very Happy

thats true but it looked like it was fed and taken care of , her fur was all clean and stuff, it was just a pink flea collar that looked not old at all. not declawed though she tried kneading my leg but it has been around here a while maybe random people are feeding her i dunno, makes me wonder there are a few other cats that run around as well younger then this one that have no collars so hmm

Sounds like something I would have done, even though my husband would kill me!!! He hates the cat we have now, but I had her before I met him. I told him, if he wanted me he had to take in my kitty too!!! Laughing

Poor Kitty
I'm sorry but I have to strongly disagree with everyone here. I think it's unconciensable (sp?) that you left an animal who obviously was friendly back out in the rain. It just breaks my heart to know that a poor cat seeking refuge was turned out. Why couldn't you have at least taken it to a shelter? Did it ever occur to you that maybe the cat may have a microchip and maybe it could be returned to its rightful owner?

I have four cats at home, one of which is a hurricane orphan (I picked her out at a place where I was doing an inspection). She was very sweet and I couldn't have left her for the world. Maybe we just think differently about things but I would have handled the situation differently.

I hope the cat finds its way to a more accepting person.

the cat has been around since last year, someone is taking care of it, and i have 2 kids under 2 and it wasnt declawed nor do i have anything for the cat, grocery store is closed mondays. if it keeps coming to my door i might take it in but also im prob leaving in july as well so what would i do with it then? i dont know anyone here and everyone has seen the cat around as well, if i had no kids i woulda for sure taken it in my home but im a bit iffy on a undeclawed cat around my children. Jason might kill me as well lol, my parents cat used to attack my poor husband. I wanted to take it in i really did but its not a stray, someone has it , prob an outdoor cat, it was cleaned and grommed and well fed, the collar seemed fairly new as well, i didnt wanna take the cat in and the ownders are out looking for it and cant find it because i have it, i havent seen anything at the post office etc about missing cats either. but eh.
