Q: Weird Discharge

for the last week and half, i've had a weird brown discharge. it started as a light brown, but now is more of a dark chocolate brown. it's pretty gross, but doesn't smell or anything.

my birth control ran out in february, and i had my annual dr's visit in mid-march, and i was waiting for my next period to end to take the birth control again, but it skipped, so i didn't take it. i haven't had sex since feb.. but i freaked out and took a home pregnancy test, and it was negative. i still haven't had my period, and thus haven't started taking my birth control (the same brand i've always been on). then the brown discharge began, so i thought i was getting my period, there hasn't been any red in the discharge, and i'm starting to get really worried.

could this be because of the month and a half (feb-mid march) when i was off birth control for the first time in 3 years? or could it be an infection of some sort?

any insight is appreciated.

This Happened to Me
When you have been on birth control for a long time your body adjust to it. Most women experience a month or two without a period after they stop. Then start to discharge when they start the birth control again.

This happened to me. I didn't have a period when I stopped birth control and then had two periods when I started bc again.

But I would talk to your Dr. let them know they would have much more insight.

Good Luck.
