i was dignose with chlamydia about two months ago. I have been with my boyfriend for 5years, but we were broken up for three months during that time I had unprotected sex with another male. He was just my second sexual parter so its not like I sleep around. Once my boyfriend and I got together again, I got tested and it appeared positive for chlamydia. I told both my boyfriend and the men I slept with to get treated for it. I dont speak with the male I slept with but I know my boyfriend was positive for chlamydia also. Now after that scare we are only with eachother no one else becuase we dont want to get infected again. My question is are the antibiotics 100% in killing the std clamydia???Can my partner and I get chlamydia again even though we both took antibiotics and have not slept with anyone else? We had unprotected sex 2weeks after we were done with the medicine was that too soon to have sex again, should we get tested gain?

You are safe to have sex again once your treatment is completed, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. However, it is recommended that women retest three to four months after treatment is completed to make sure that the chlamydia is, in fact, gone.

You can look here http://www.cdc.gov/std/Chlamydia/STDFact-C hlamydia.htm#treatment for more information, but keep in mind the internet is not a substitute for a doctor. If you think of more questions, you can write them down so you don't forget, then ask the doctor if you go to get retested at 3-4 months. Also, make sure you read any paperwork that comes with your medication (I know it's kind of late since you already finished these meds, but for future reference) as they will often tell you when it's safe to start having sex again and things like that.
