Ok. I've discovered I'm dented too. I'm not overly concerned, but... I am fairly certain that hydration affects my dent (top of head, left of center line extending from front to back). I am a runner in a hot climate (male, 44). I notice that when I'm dehydrated, my dent is much more pronounced. If I hydrate appropriately, it is almost unnoticeable. I too, however, have been wearing sunglasses on my head for years. After reading these posts, I put them on my head, and yes! the nosepiece sits exactly in my dent. Interesting. I'm going try to not worry about this dent anymore, but I am going to limit my sunglasses-on-head time. BTW, I have never suffered from migraines and such.

Went to UCSF and after every test imaginable, the head of neurosurgery believes my mom has OSTEOMYELITIS. A bone infection as a result of infection from a prior surgery that migrated through bone marrow to cause these dents. She has surgery this month to excavate the area and run tests to confirm. Someone had asked if the dents are fixable ibna prior post. And the Dr. McDermott at UCSF replied yes, they use a hydroxy appetite, to graph into the dents and your bone will re-intergrate through this. That way no plasty or plates is used...which are other options. But this one sounds best. After her surgery I will let you all know pathology results. But for those of you suffering from the same symptoms as my mother, I highly advise that you don't accept "I don't know" or "its nothing" for an answer. The Dr. at UCSF said had she not come in the infection would have progressed until her face and skull had looked like, inhis words..."the dark side osf the moon." When the infection progresses so far it can be incurable. But They said that IV treatments over a couple months plus scraping out the infection should get rid of it, if this 1st surgery proves it is what it they believe it is...osteomyelitis!
Good luck and talk to you soon!

I've got a dent too
I'm 38 years old and noticed it about 9 months ago. It starts at my hairline and runs back about 2 inches. It's fine some days, feels almost flat, and other days is a deep ridge. I too have had bad headaches since I was a child. I'm trying to isolate the incidences - I think the ridge appears when I'm heading for a bad headache or having a stressful day. Thanks to all for posting - it's not as scary after reading that others have the same problem.

This is amazing.I am 39 years old and have severe headaches. I showed my family the two dents 2 or 3 inches long on the left top of my scull a few months ago. Some days when I am feeling not with it and have headaches the dents are prominent. There are days that it seems smooth, almost normal. I haven't gone to the doctor cause I feel silly. I did for awhile have lightning like pains that shot from the back of my head to the center of my head. Those pains have stopped.

dent in skull
About 6 months ago I developed a large dent in the back of my skull. Coincidentally, it's in the same spot where I received a steroid shot for psoriasis. I'm pretty sure that is what caused it, but just to be sure, I have a dermatologist appt. next week and will ask about it then.

Dent in head
It's nice to know there are others with this dent, but a little frustrating that there are no concrete answers! I'm sure you all know how I feel. I am 26 and discovered this dent near the top of my head (parallel to my part) a few months ago. I have no other symptoms and have not gone to the doctor because I really don't know what I'd say. But I know it's not normal. Mine fluctuates throughout the day. This morning it was very pronounced but this afternoon it's fairly flat. Maybe I will try the gluten free diet and massage therapy. Keep posting as you learn more!!

dent in the skull and headache
the dent in skull is caused by muscle tensio, poor posture standing, sitting and laying down. as we get older our bodies become slightly imballanced causing muscle strain on either side of the neck or muscles around the spine.these muscles can pull on the back of the skull on either side depending on what side of your body that you are most muscular.this can cause the disks in your neck to shift and pinch nerve endings in the spinal column sending sharp pains throughout the nervous system in the brain(the tingling and electric shock sensations in your skull). the disks in the base of the skull may raise on one side not causing a dent in the skull but, raising the skull where the fracture line is.I have more info on this condition and remedies just write me.trust me i know what all of you are going through i have one too and did my research.
