Can you check with your county government and see if you qualify for any type of health benefits? That may help, then you can get in to see a therapist. I know Hospice does counseling after someone dies, but I think it is for a year after their death.

Do you live with your mother? I had an alcoholic mother too and the best thing I ever did was move out of her house. I know it's hard if you are depressed to think of doing all of those things.

You don't say much else about your mom, but remember the drinking is her choice. Alcoholics and drug addicts are selfish people who seem to love blaming others for their problems. Is that the case for you?

Also, I lost both of my parents, a really good friend, and another good family friend within a 9 month period. I don't have a large support system either (family is pretty disjointed, I am single with no significant other, etc.) I'm also not a really religious person, but I have found that turning to a higher power has helped me in times like you are going through. It isn't easy, especially without that support system.

I LIVE WITH MY MOM. I WAS ENGAGED A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT DID NOT WORK OUT. I AM AFRAID TO LEAVE BECAUSE I AM AFRAID SHE WILL FALL ALL OVER THE PLACE , GET HURT AND DIE. SHE DRINKS ABOUT 2 BOTTLES OF WINE EVERY NIGHT. THE STATE DOES NOT PROVIDE ANYTHING GOOD. I LOOKED INTO THAT.

Please Look Into Moving Out

You have to understand (and I've been through this, so I know where you're coming from) that you are not responsible for your mom. If she does hurt herself, it's her choice to get better. She isn't going to listen to you or anyone else.

Please consider trying Al-anon. It really helped me get my head back on straight. My mom would tell me that she drank because of me! And I believed it. And strangely enough, as much as I hated it there, I lived there until I was 25.

Are you able to support an apartment? If not, try to check on the local Al-anon meetings so that you can separate yourself mentally from your mom. Then the other things will fall into place.

I hope this helps - I feel like I'm preaching but I've been in your shoes - not a fun place at all.

ITS HARD WHEN YOU DONT HAVE SOMEONE TO TALK TO. I DONT EVEN HAVE 1 PERSON ON A REGULAR BASIS TO TALK TO. MY FAMILY BLAMES ME FOR EVERYTHING. I DO HAVE A FRIEND I TALK TO SOMETIMES, BUT HE JUST GOT BACK FROM IRAQ AND I DONT WANT THROW MY PROBLEMS ON HIM EVERYDAY. I DO TELL HIM HOW I FEEL BRIEFLY. IT HELPS FOR THE MOMEMENT. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME. ITS GOOD WHEN YOU GET ADVICE FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS GONE THROUGH IT.

It'll Be Alright

hey there, I totally understand how you feel. When I was depressed I also had very few people that cared about what I was going through. I felt like people didn't want to be around me just because I was negative.. but they didn't know how bad I needed them to help me out. The reason why I say "WAS depressed" is because I'm actually 100% free from depression and anxiety today. I truley never thought the day would come, but I went from severe depression and anxiety to absolutley happy. I got so sick of being stuck in the dark and deprived of happiness that I became absolutely determined that I would find the root of my problem and hopefully fix it. I first looked back at when the depression started to see if maby something had caused my in-balance. I realized that I had gone through a very rough time, very emotional and traumatizing. Ever since the experience I felt the same depressed emotions, as if I was still in the experience. When I realize d this I gained alot of hope because I knew that I must of retained the negative emotions from that experience. Sure enough when I found a NERT practicioner (negative emotional release treatment) the doctor explained to me what happened, and what happens in 75% of cases. He explained how the emotions actually get retianed in the sub-concious mind if they are not process right, which can happen when you are traumatized. I then took the treatment .................. I was absolutely amazed! the depression, anxiety and every other negative feeling that went with it released from my body! I could feel the negative energy leaving my body. I'm now 100% happy and satisfied with life, where before I never thought the day would come when i would even enjoy winning the lottery. I am now on a mission to spread the word about this. I've spoken to other NERT patients and listened to all of their success stories as well. They all have released some kind of negative emotions wheather it was depression, anxiety, anger, confusion, worthlessness, resentment, etc. ..
It'll be alright.. we'll get to the root of your problem too.. Warren B
PM me and we'll try to rule some things out... Love you all!
