a small boil developed into a carbuncle.the doctor finally operated it when it didn't heal for 2 weeks.he literally scooped out the dead tissue and the pus.the wound now,was about 1.5-2cms deep and 5cm long by 3.5-4cms wide.it has been 6 months since the operation.the wound has filled in and only the top layer of the skin needs to grow.but this has been the case since the past two months.
initially the skin grew till about the size of a tear-drop of the open wound was left.then the tear-drop grew bigger until the it reached back to the original size.ever since, the skin has been growing and coming off, the wound size has been fluctuating.also, there is no diabetes,so that is not inhibiting the skin growth.a skin-graft has been advised.but what is most bothering is why the skin is not growing and covering the wound, especially after so long and no diabetes.what could be the problem?
