I just had a little boy 6-29-06 and now I'm pregnant with my second baby (another boy) due 8-1-07. So close in age...I know!!! I was taking the pill after I had my first son, but I'm not very good at remembering to take them everyday. I've read about other things to take after this baby is born, but I'm afraid that some of them will make me gain alot of weight. Any suggestions.....please let me know???

The best thing to do is talk to your doctor. Make sure she knows what your concerns are, if you're breastfeeding, and any other health issues you might have. She would be able to explain every method to you and talk about what is right and safe for you.

There are a lot of methods out there because women have have different needs and likes. It would be difficult for us to choose a method for you. Just about all methods of birth control have some symptoms. Most methods aren't going to make you gain fifty pounds though. Smile A lot of hormonal methods of birth control have side effects that are a heck of a lot more dangerous and worrisome than weight gain though. That's why it's important to make sure your doctor explains all of your options and their side effects in some detail.

Don't be afraid to see someone else if your doctor is not willing to sit down with you and explain every kind of birth control that is available. That's something you're entitled to.
