Ok so I'm a 17 year old male high school student. And I'm a bit worried (or paranoid) that I might have type two herpes. I know I should go and talk with my doctor but I want to see what I can find out or is anyone knows anything with what might be going on. So about 3 months ago I think, I began noticing some small red dots on the head of my penis, but I never really thought anything of them. My father has type one herpes and as far as I know I don't have it. About a month ago I engaged in unprotected oral sex (bad idea I know) for the first time. More recently (over the last 2 or 3 weeks) after I masturbated I noticed that the inner foreskin was a bright red like it was irritated and the head of my penis has some red almost rash looking spots. As of now it is hard to tell if there is a sore or not but I cannot see one easily. Also recently the head of my penis has been itching. And from all that I have read much of what is happening to me seems to be some symptoms of the type two herpes virus/disease. Now I've been watching it for about a week (and done nothing to irritate it (i.e. masturbating)) and the redness of the foreskin has disappeared but the rash is still there. And I have also noticed small cuts in the skin making it painful to retract the foreskin. My original thought was that was because of a tight foreskin but after all this I'm beginning to think I might have type two herpes......and to be honest I'm scared because the more and more I read the more and more it seems to me I have it. I hope to god I don't but it is a possibility I must face. If anyone out there knows more or happens to have had a similar experiences or any advice (other then talk to my doctor which I will do if nothing changes in the next week or two) please tell me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Yeah I would definitely schedule an appt with the doctor just to make sure. For now, my biggest advice to you would be to avoid having any kind of sex with others until you get it checked out by a doctor. Also, make sure you use condoms from now on!

I certainly intended to from now on. One time forgetting is one too many for my liking.
