I can't help you out, but I would just
like to say I wish I had your problem,
haha. You probably see it different then
I, but I would love to be called a twig,
people are probably just trying to get a
rise out of you anyway. At least you get
to eat what ever you want and not have to
worry about getting fat. But if I was in
your position I would just up my calorie
intake a 1000 and get a weight bench, get
some muscle on there and it knock your
weight up quick.

All you need to do is to find a diet that
supports weight gain. You'll find plenty
of those online.

genetics,
what is the stature of your parents. You
will grow.
High protein weight gain through a
nutritional formular may help. hard
work, muscle building. Pressups etc.
Have you ever had your thyroid level
tested. my husband is amazing how he can
fluctuate, extreemly high metabolism, he
eats like a horse yet can remain thin. He
has stabalised now that he is getting the
correct thyroxine.

You are 14, you are too young to be
worrying about your weight. Don't go
taking weight gaining supplements or
weight training like these people are
telling you too. Your body is going
through a lot of changes, you won't really
know what is going to happen, you might
hit a growth spurt and become 5'9, which
does happen, or your metabolism may
decrease later on, who knows =/. You are
lightweight as you said, but you don't
want to mess with heavy weight training
just yet, you may injure your growth
plates. If you must do weights, then I
suggest finding somebody older then
yourself who is experienced in weight
training and makes sure you have the
proper form and technique. Don't go heavy
on the weights like a lot of junior
high/high school idiots who obviously
aren't that strong but decides to show off
to their friends or a girl near by, by
attempting to do 45 plates on bench press
when you can't -_-. Don't do much
cardiovascular/long lasting physical
activities too, if you decide to weight
train. The best thing I would just suggest
for you is to eat more meals. Eat 5 times
instead of your usual 3, but don't bloat
yourself at each meal. Just eat enough to
last you a few hours, and eat again then.
It will cause your metabolism to increase
(which I know you don't want), but if you
eat significantly more amount during those
meals, the slightly increased metabolism
won't compare with the calorie intake and
you can gain weight thusly. So just make
sure you eat healthily and get your
nutritional needs for now. When you are
16-18, and you are still skinny (chances
are, you will still be skinny), and you
have enough experience knowing how things
are done in the gym, then start going
after the weight lifting.
On a side note, you could listen to what
roxy stated about having your thyroid
level tested. Chances are, your thyroid
level may be perfectly fine, but just in
case. The Thyroid gland excretes hormones
that have to do with metabolism, a
hypoactive or hyperactive (in your case it
would be hyperactive), could lead to an
increase in metabolism. Don't get your
hopes up though, it isn't as if every
other kid on the block may have thyroid
level imbalances. You will probably have
to gain weight the hard way =/
