This is kind of a long story so I will try to keep it as brief as possible.

I am a 20 year old male. Around 3-4 years ago I developed a problem with my ear. It constantly felt plugged, and I couldn't "pop" it. I went to my doctor and he didnt know what was wrong. I saw an ENT and he told me it was probably a deviated septum which blocked my breathing in one side and plugged up the eustasian tube. Over time, the problem got worse and spread to the other ear. I saw another ENT that said my eustasian tube was fine and he put a tube in my ear to try to release the pressure. That didnt help. I started developing other problems. My jaw pops now on the left side. I went to a TMJ specialist and he said it was normal. I have developed constant muscle spasms in my face. I have tightness in my leg muscles, I have bad allergy problems, I have a pain in my front tooth, I have a weird numbness feeling in my tongue. My face has become very red and I flush easily. I have seen many doctors, ents, tmj specialists, dentists, oral surgeons. And nobody can find the problem with me. Ive had a CT scan and an MRI that both came out normal (and my doc said I had one of the straightest septums hed ever seen after looking at the scan....go figure)

The only answer I can think of is stress causing all of this. I am pretty stressed out (although a lot of the stress is from all of my physical problems). I also have pretty bad self esteem issues. I am getting better with that, but they are definately still a big problem.

Any advice on what I should do next? i feel like I have wasted my time being bounced around between doctors and I feel like the problem keeps getting worse and Im losing sight of a solution. Ive been thinking of going to see some kind of therapist or something. maybe if I can work out my stress the physical problems will start to go away too. Any help you can offer would be appreciated and thanks for putting up with my long post

Stress Can Do Anything
Stress can cause almost any symptom you can dream up. I would suggest you find an anxiety disorder specialist and see what he/she can offer. You may just need to work on some relaxation techniques such as meditation or breathing techniques. CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can also be helpful.

Good luck,
OE

Ear plugged up
I have what seems to be the same type of problem. Right ear plugging up and also causes dizziness. I have to rub my face a lot to stay alert also. Various things have been "eating me" and I feel this is what is causing it.
Enough! It is time to get patient, find some foundation with my current situation, build up from it and kick this nasty thing out of the head!

As a Specialized Kinesiologist specializing in hydration and the jaw joint, regardless of what any scan or x-rays show, your many varied symptoms very likely indicate an imbalanced Jaw joint.
The TMJ is responsible for 80% of your muscles and 90% of your neurology. I have seen everything from learning disabilities and foot and knee problems to allergies and memory issues - actually the list would go on for many pages - all the result of a misaligned jaw joint.
Something as simple as going to the dentist for a teeth cleaning will throw out your jaw placement. I work using solely energy to make the corrections.
If you can find a practitioner who does RESET (or possibly cranial sacral work - not sure) you very well may find the relief you seek. And it will NOT be temporary.
At the very least such a specialized kinesiologist can make the diagnosis in a few minutes.

I wish you well. I do what I do because I suffered some devastating effects from a misaligned TMJ.

After nearly a year out of work and looking hard for a job, I have now found something typing from home. It doesnt pay well on a normal working hour week so i am having to put some hours in to get a good rate of pay but I am really enjoying the work, have no-one breathing down my week, am at home in my own comfortable surroundings so I am absolutely amazed that I am once again displaying symptoms of a very red, sore stressed face. It has only come since I have been doing this typing. I used to get this before when I worked in lawyers offices as it was all hands on deck with tight time constraints - very stressful, but I don't actually feel stressed in the slightest bit now - so why I am displaying the same symptoms? This is weird. You'd think I would have had it all along when out of work and trying to get a job but not - just now when I have found something to do - WHY?

Curious
Sicksucks....Did you get tested for Lyme? What was the outcome?? I have the exact list of symptoms that you listed and am going in for an MRI tomorrow bcuz my ENT put me on steroid pack & valium and it didn't go away. It did come on abruptly for me though, overnight. Both ears plugged, blurred, dizzy, light headed, fatigue muscles, ER anxiety attacks all very familiar. However, I am trying to go to school full time and work 60 hours a week so timing is NOT on my side.

You may want to look at your diet....I know it sounds wierd but I think you may want to research raw foods. At the very least it will calm your nerves but I have a feeling your other symptoms will go away too. It did wonders for my anxiety.

I know your original post was in 07, so I'm sure you have found some relief by now but your symptoms are very similar to mine.

I'm 21 years old and this problem started for me in August of 09. Same issue with ear pressure/fullness, I was getting very frustrated with dizziness and just generally not feeling great because I thought I was eating a very healthy diet. After a lot of searching I finally found some relief this summer when I was told after blood tests I have several food sensitivities to things I was eating on a daily basis.

Since then I have seen someone else who has targeted the cause for food sensitivities to leaky gut syndrome/candida overgrowth in my body. Might be things worth looking into for you.

It has always given me bad anxiety, actually the foods that I am sensitive to can give me very bad anxiety when I eat them. The problem is the delayed reactions of your body to these foods so diagnosing it as such can be tough. I have had many other strange symptoms like heart palpitations, sensitivities to perfume/tobacco smoke, clogged ears, headaches, strange sensations in various parts of my body (scalp, mouth, cheeks, even arms), dizziness, fatigue, and the culmination of all of them creates a very anxious daily mindset that I am constantly worried what else might be wrong with me.

Candida overgrowth can lead to leaky gut which leads to food sensitivities and many other symptoms, just might be worth looking in to.
