Since I am using birth control (the nuvaring), can it affect the outcome of an at-home pregnancy test? I have been having a few symptoms that make me think that I might be pregnant such as
1)my stomach is getting firmer.
2)my breasts are getting bigger, a little firmer, and are hurting.
3)i have been feeling nausea almost all day.
4)i am having to urinate more frequently.
I have only had sex while on the birth control. And when I got my period a little over a month ago, it was very light.

Any insight that you may have is helpful.

Birth control will not effect the results of a home pregnancy test. Many of the pregnancy symptoms that you listed can also be side effects from hormonal birth control. If you are concerned about a possible pregnancy you should take a test.

If you are having severe side effects with nuva ring you should discuss this with your doctor. Birth control can effect different people differently. You may need to try a different method. (probably something with a lower dose). There are many options that your doctor can discuss with you and help you decide based off of your current needs and medical background.
