Q: Shot Questions??

This is not to be a debate, please.

With my first child, I just let the doctors give him whatever was "typical". This time, I am wondering what is typically given to newborns. I have read in these forums about concerns regarding Vitamin K shots. I read up about those shots and do have concerns.

Would someone please just let me know what shots and other things are typically done in the hospital and why some are controversial. I do know about the controversial issues with some of the shots kids get when they are older, just not enough about the newborn shots and other typical procedures done in the hospital.

You can send me some links to let me read up on it. I wasn't really informed with my first child and really want to be better informed with my next child.

Again, please don't turn this into a debate and don't knock each other and take things personal. I just want to make a well informed decision.

I know what you mean about the debate thing. This is a really touchy subject. Some people can't take it when others disagree with their views. The bottom line is if when you are researching you will find bad statistics if you are looking for negatives, and good if your not.

In the hospital they give the baby the vitamin K shot right after they are born. I wasn't asked if I wanted it done, they just did it. I wasn't mad though. In the pregnancy forum it said it was to protect the baby from gonnorhea. I have never heard of that. I thought it was to clot blood?
Just type in what you are looking for and search, then you will not be swayed by others "literature".

They also give a Hepatitis shot, which I chose not to have done. I do not live in an area that has a high rate of Hepatitis, we are not around needles, and I figured I would wait to have it done when .Jaylon is closer to the teen years.

My sister helped me decide which to do and which not to do (right now).

if i were you, i would be conerened about *all* of the shots. dtap is the most reactive vaccine, and then later, MMR is as well. i witnessed the "dtap scream" after my son received it. i will pm you a load of information. i also regret the hep b shots. i hate myself for not researching this earlier.

perhaps you should continue to read through the formus. i believe every parent has to make these decisions themselves, and do their own research. i am more than happy to give a few sources here and there, but its a personal choice. decisions like this can take months and months to research, and i am not going to dictate what anyone should do with their children, because i will never hear the end of it if i do.

What I Found
person wrote:
Along with the famous horrid cry of death comes;
arched back
projectile vomiting imm. after milk (yes even breastmilk)
high pitched screaming like you have NEVER heard a baby scream!24/7
sleeplessness
soon afterwards; seizures
soon after that; stop breathing

and yes there is cerebral edema
(my brothers baby had this, immed after the vaccines)Conf. via CAT scan

The vaccine has done damage via the spinalcord into the brain.
These poor innocent babies get tortured by these lethal vaccines.
And yet it still happens every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
