Q: Is This Spotting?

I started birth control around the end of march and had my first period on it about 2 weeks ago. I had an annoyingly long period *7 days* (before birth control it was like 4) Anyway, it's about 2 or two and a half weeks into my cycle (Im just ending the first week of pills on the 2nd pack) and I'm "spotting" I think? It's almost like I'm on my period but it's really really light and the discharge is more of a brownish red than the usual deep reddish color (kind of the color I used to get at the end of my periods as they were tapering off). The only thing that I can think of that MAY have caused this is that I forgot one of my pills (but I took it the next morning as soon as I woke up) and I'm thinking that since it started a day or so after that maybe that was what caused it? I'm not having sex at the moment, and even when we do have sex we used condoms.. so we're safe... but I'm just confused as to what's going on. I suppose this could be 'spotting' but I've never done that before so I really don't know !
helpppppp

Yes, that is breathrough bleeding/spotting.

Some women will have spotting when they start/restart the pill(after a time off from it), so it is a normal occurence.

IF you reacted better with another pill, then perhaps this particular one is just not right for you.

If it continues for longer than 2 months, then you should seek advice of your doc =)

It sounds like breathrough bleeding? the most annoying thing right? lol. Soe women bleed a lot the first three months. You may want to try another kind. Give it some time. Maybe it's too strong and you need a lower dose pill? It may go away with time. sadly its a side effect Sad
