Hello,

I am new to this site, just as many of you ladies out there, I also had a Partial Hysterectomy in 2003. I was Left with only one ovary, at the beginning I had hot flashes, mood swings and absolutely had no desire for sex. My husband tells me I should become a Nun!!! When I spoke to my OBGYN, she told me that the only thing that might help is getting on the pill. That would also help me with my policystic ovary.
Laughing However the hot flashes are gone, the rest stayed with me. I am 29 I was blessed with 2 beautiful kids before having surgery. Before starting to read some of the e-mails posted here, i really though I was CRAZY!! Thinking I might be pregnant!! My breast is a bit larger, my stomach is the size of a 4-5 month pregnant woman. I know that part of me desperately want another baby, I miss the feeling of it, even though I had a horrible pregnancy with my son. But now after reading some of the messages of similar situations as mine , I think I should get checked. Thank you All, for sharing your stories with everyone, I am glade to know that there are others out there willing to help and support me.
I will let you all know what happens. Smile

Welcome Pesci,
I hope you keep in contact with us here to let us know your outcome. I too am having the same symtoms as far as my stomach being distended as if I'm four to five months pregnant.
I don't have any ovaries left being I had a full hysterectomy back in 05.

I get crampy from time to time as if I'm going to get my period. Back in Dec. I had to go to the ER for abd. pain and they found I have right kidney hydronephrosis, and that I possibly was passing a very small stone PLUS the radiologist saw a 2cm cyst on my right ovary.
I don't have any ovaries inside.
I"m wondering if my stomach is getting so distended by the cyst he saw inside? I'm wondering if maybe it's grown? or did it go away? I'm left with these questions and I haven't been able to get any medical follow up since that day in the ER because i have no insurance due to loss of job back in sept.
I have a new job that I just started on monday and I"ll have medical insurance in 3 months from now.
do you think your distension is caused by your cystic ovary?
are you getting any other symtoms of a cyst? when I had ovaries, I had chronic cysts on them too. I lost one ovary due to it becoming ruined along with the tube, so when Ihad my hysterectomy, they removed the only one I had left because it was causing so much problems with a hemorphagic cyst that just wouldn't go away.
what type of cysts do you have?
sorry for all the questions I"m throwing at you.
I"m curious to see what's going on with you and the end results.
I hope you come back and post to us when you're thru with your check up.
I wish you the best outcome.
sincerely,
Linda

A distended stomach is quite common after a hysterectomy and would not be the first symptom of an ectopic pregnancy. However, there is no risk of becoming pregnant when you've had a partial hysterectomy.

I hope you go see your doctor and get yourself a check up.

good luck.
