Just curious if anyone knows if having surgery done on a deviated septum can cause problems a year or two later with it being deviated again?

I had it done 2 years ago due to sports related injury. After dealing with bouts of recurring sinus infections I am finally seeing a ENT next week.

I have non-stop post-nasal drip. Do not sleep at night. Sometimes Tussionex cough syrup works, but not always. I cannot control the coughing and it is so frustrating. I just hope they find something and that it will be fixed. Nasonex, Claritin, Astelin. Nothing works.

What were the symptoms before surgery?

Did you have septal surgery b/c of nasal obstruction?

I found an article that discusses complications of nasal and sinus surgery...but these mention the direct after-effects, rather than years later. http://www.american-rhinologic.org/patient info.surgerycomplications.phtml
