A few weeks ago, I started noticed several red bumps on my legs that looked almost like pimples or mosquito bites. Some of them were itchy and some were painful, and they began to turn purple as they went away. I've noticed a few more in the past couple of days, and just noticed one on my thigh that is almost like a lump under my skin. It doesn't itch but is painful to touch.
A friend told me her brother broke out in a rash similar to this because of too much alcohol. I drink occasionally, but not very often, and this doesn't look or feel like a rash at all.
Any ideas of what it could be, and should I get it checked out by a doctor?
