Q: Deviated Siptum/ear Infection Question

I recently had a burst ear drum from an ear infection (my second in a few years), also had sinusitis at the same time. I went to an ENT and he said that I had a deviated septum and should have it repaired and that would help with the ear and sinus infections.
My question is: Is that true and is it worth the surgery?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
