Hi there Very Happy

i'm a 17 year old virgin male and for the past year I noticed i've had some white "dots" circling the of my penis, right under the head actually on the edges. Should I be worried? What is it? I've looked up information on std and Herpes and i'd have to say I never had any of the symptoms but i'm still worried, is this dirt that just needs to wash away?

I also noticed when i'm erected they end up dissapearing a little, or after i've taken a shower.

I hope this isn't something serious =(.

Edit: I think to be a little more specific, i'm not sure or do not have information on this but I think it i's called "pearly penile papules"?

Penile papuels does sound like what you've got, and they are perfectly normal, helthy and harmless. I wouldn't worry about them. Personally, I think they look kind of neat, not gross at all. My fiancee has a few tiny bumps around his corona too.

Yup, pearly penile papules is what I thought when I started reading this. They are common and no cause for concern. They are not an STD and are not the result of bring dirty or anything like that. My man has some too.

You could always go in to get the doctor to verify that that is what they are.

Laser surgery is an option, but it is pretty much pointless. The papules don't hurt, don't interfere with sex, and cannot be given to partners. There is no medical reason to bother with removing them.

No, I am not aware of any other ways to remove them, especially something as simple as a soap or cream. If they come out with a soap or cream that melts portions of skin and tissue away, I am not sure that I would want to use it anyway.

It is true that not everyone knows what they are, but if you have them, it's easy to explain to a partner. If they don't believe you, you could look it up and even show them pictures. If that does not satisfy them, you could bring them to the doctor with you or use a condom. It really isn't a big deal. If someone is not comfortable with their own body, I am not sure that they should be sharing it with other people yet anyway.

Ok so if we can't remove them what is the best way of preventing them. Or are they something that we can't do anything about.

You cannot prevent them. You either have them or you don't.
