Does anyone have tips to help stop masturbating!? I realize that there was a post previously written but about 95% of the post is there discussing whether it is ok or not to masturbate. I need some help--tips mabye mentally and physically to stop. I want to stop and that's what matters, please don't go on about how it is ok or not ok for me to do it. I have made up my mind I would like to stop. Also tips on stopping looking at pornography would be helpful--things I can do to prevent it and things I can do to resist it. Thank you very much for all of your help!

I can't tell you how to stop masturbating unless it is actually a problem.

If you truly are addicted and it interferes with your daily life, then I will help you. I don't help people stop a completely healthy habit.

For the porn, delete any you have on your computer and any links you have in your favorites. Turn safe-search on in Yahoo! and Google.

Well, masturbation drains me physically and mentally. I don't like the whole thing about it--using your body for a release that should be used with another person. It goes against my beliefs and morales and it has in some ways been an obsession to quit for the past 2 years. I will be a much stronger person once I conquer this addiction. It is consuming me...please help if you have any advice.

I think it is far healther to masturbate than to obsess about quitting. That, in my opinion, is more of a disease than masturbation.

I am sure other people on this forum will have advice for you.

I'd rather talk about how it's completely ridiculous that people teach others that masturbation is wrong, unhealthy, or a sin, but since you said not to, I'll try not to (too much).

But if I could just say a couple things...

1. You'd be far healthier if you masturbated and accepted it as normal, healthy, and something 95% of people do. It's far less healthy to worry about, have a negative image of yourself and what you do.

2. Your desire to masturbate is not in your mind. It's in your body. It's chemicals in your body that are natural and serve a purpose.

I could make one hundred points and say many things, but I'll leave it at those two. I'm guessing you're religious, so you believe that God wants you to be healthy and happy and that He created you and your body. Hmmm.

Anyway, if you really want to know how to quit masturbating, google some. I just hope that if you find yourself to be miserable, imbalanced chemically, and otherwise far worse off after quitting, that'll you'll work on seeing it as a positive part of a healthy and happy life.

If you want, you could look at some religious views that are NOT against masturbation...

You'll find plenty of links on how to quit (don't use this one please... http://www.churchofsatan.org/masturbation. html ), but I'm not going to link to them.
