Hi, Im 25 and live in England and had 10
miscarriages (mostly early 1st trimester
but one at 19 weeks whilst on birth
control pills and other contraception but
no pregnancies since ive been actively
trying - timing has always been good). I
also have Fibromyalgia. Ive now had 2
lupus blood tests come back *borderline
positive* what ever that means and i had a
3rd nearly 2 weeks ago (it usually takes
6-8 weeks to get the results of each one
so i dont know what thats going to say
yet). I dont know if it helps but on the
blood test form it said lupus
anticoagulant, t-screen and a couple of
other things i cant remember.
Im waiting for a laparoscopy and dye test
after an u/s showed a hydrosalpinx and
they think i have endometriosis due to
sharp stabbing pains, cramps, nausea,
fatigue and pain all times of the month
and on going toilet, slight irregular
cycles (i am temping and charting) and my
mother had to have a complete hysterectomy
due to endo at 28 - 18 years ago) and im
currently trying to conceive (20 months).
Basically my question is as im having an
operation and im trying to conceive can I
start treatment now? I'm waiting for the
third test result but if that is whats
stopping me from conceiving (or i am
conceiving and losing them before i know
about it?) and the risk of blood clots/dvt
after the operation (my brother had a
blood clot on the brain at age 10, had
surgery which was successful - just left
him with epilepsy from the surgery and
died with no known cause at 20 so as you
can tell im worried about blood clots)
should i start any treatment now or just
wait for the blood test results (due back
at about the same time as my laparoscopy
is booked)?
It was my gynae consultant that asked for
the blood test originally last year but
after some blood tests was messed up
(wrong colour tubes used, then advised to
go to the wrong hospital) its taken
forever and now its just letters from the
hospital advising me to come back in for
more tests so i have no one to ask as my
gynae wont see me again until my
operation.
So basically - would it be best to wait
for the third test result and risk a
possible dvt/blood clot and more months
wasted trying to conceive or should i get
treatment now ?
Would treatment without that third result
cause any medical issues if previous
results have been false positives?
