endometriosis can and does spread to the pelvis.
the endo can grow on the interior muscle, your bowels and bladder and also your cervix (if you kept it), your ovaries and even sometimes into the top of the vagina.
removal of the uterus does not guarantee removal of all endo metrial tissue. This tissue reacts to hormones released from your ovaries.
It is preferable to keep your ovaries as this can help reduce the need for hrt and reduce the risk of things like osteoporsis, however, keeping the ovaries does mean that you are still at risk of continued problems if your hyst was due to endo.
Your best thing is to go back and see your doctor and discuss possible treatments with them.
