Hi there. First at all, sorry for my bad language. I will try to be understandable as I can.

Im 25years, male. I have a problem and many symptoms that brings to thyroid disorders - hypothyroidism... I v been on diet and diet for few years... and i v been on the border of serious anorexia. So I solve this problem myself. Im 166cm and have 48kg (almost anorexia)... So, this was about 2 years ago. Im 62kg at the moment. so... got weight gain. I had ortorexia too! I have all these symptoms: fatigue, lack of energy, mood swings, fluid retention, weight gain, cold intolerance, very cold feet, decreased memory - concentration, depression, low motivation-ambition, very brittle nails and slow growth, thiny hair, very slow healing, very low sex drive - libido, erectile dysfuntciton, muscle weakness, and the last thing, most important - vision problems. I think that vision disturbance is getting worse from year to year! So... I have been to my doctor, and he take TSH tests. In a few days, he says that im fine with TSH. (2.3). But I knew there is something wrong with me, and that I did not fell the way i felt about 5 years ago. So i decided to go to another doctor, but not my primary, couse he wanted to give me some antidepresant. Im from Slovenia actually, and I decided to go to Ljubljana to hospital poly-clinic to take a whole Thyroid tests... and... here's my thyroid results:

TSH: 0.043 mE/L (0.35-5.5)
FT4: 5.6 pmol/L (11.5-22.7)
FT3: 2.74 pmol/L (3.5-6.5)
antiTg: 13.4 KE/L (do 60)
antiTPO: 39.4 KE/L (do 60)

There is written down on a paper that I have Secondary Hypothyroidism, and I ll be called to a hospital for hospitalization, to check and test for primary cause because my thyroid insuficiency. I heard from one of the doctors that may by Pituitary gland problem. I have just read on the internet about Pituarity gland, hypopituitarism and about tumors.
Im going to hospitalization in about 14 days. And till the date i was wondering what is really happening to me? How posibility is there that i have a pituitary tumor. I have never had any headache, but my vision and sex libido... is 'suspicious'. ..Can somebody tell me some experience about it, and what you think?
I will be greatful for any of your answer, help and support.
Thanks again! and I hope I will be live a normal healthy life soon.
Regards,
Luke from Slovenia

Hypo Pit-
Hi, first off I should inform you that I am nothing close to a doctor nor am I very educated about the whole pituitary thing. I have recently been dx'ed as having a pit tumor at 5mm in size as well as a pineal gland tumor at 8.5mmx13mm, along with thyroid cysts and other crap. The first thing my dr did for me was of course blood work, have they checked your prolactin levels? That is the main one for testing for tumors. You have a lot of my same symptoms. i have had weird weight gain and loss, the coldness, bad bad headaches, seeing double, mood swings etc etc...Have you ever gotten a MRI or CT scan of your head? those are the main things they use to see the tumors. Supposedly pit tumors are pretty common, only certain people actually feel the effects of them. Everything that I have researched suggests that they can be larger in men because of the later symptoms. Women usually lose their monthly's and have breast discharge but men can lose their sex drive and also have breast leaking. I would defiantly go and see your endocrinologist or specialist ASAP, especially if you are having vision problems. the pit tumor can only really grow upwards into your eye nerves causing the vision problems. I know my dr sent me to an eye dr for a field vision test to see if I had lost any vision as well as dilating my eyes to check the pressure in them. One of the main symptoms of a pit tumor is visual disturbances and headaches. I think with you already having thyroid problems, you may be predisposed to having to deal with other problems. It is my understanding that one gland can stop another or vice versa. The body's level of homeostasis is all out of whack and it can all get messed up. Be your own advocate and research and ASK QUESTIONS and seek the answers! The internet is full of good sites with good information on these things. i would try to help you on your lab results but our system is way different in the US. I wish you the best of luck! Michele

Re: Hypo Pit-
Thank you michele, really..thanks! Smile
ok... i said that im goint to hospitalization in about 14days. so, there will be made predisposition of main problem- cause. i have read and read and read all the info about thyroid, pituitary and those stuff, iv read even whole Wilsons Temperature Syndrome book and manual. But there are always questions that u cant find. So im wondering if could still be a tumor, IF i never had headaches!?? Just my vision is getting worsen from year to year, and low sex drive too. I also forgot to tell that im having a strange symptom - sign on my penis. it's some kind of sores on my penis just below gland penis on the left side of outer foreskin layer. Those sores I have for about 3 years, and any kind of ointment did not heal my problem. There are actually a few days severe sores that makes a little pain (light 'sting') and then follows the very mild feelings or nothing at all. Do you know any information or experience about this problem?
I think this is a sign of a tumor or cancer or something serius thing.
Thanks gor help. I will be greatful any help and info. Thanks again all of u.
Regards,
Luke

No problem! Have you ever been checked for Diabetes? there are many different kinds... Sometimes that makes people have sores that don't heal right or are just open wounds for quite sometime. I don't know too much about it, especially since I don't actually have a penis haha..So you have NEVER had headaches? That is a good sign i am guessing..
Beyond that I would definitely ask your dr, push them to answer you or to find answers for you. I know alot of people with hormonal problems and many are led to believe that it is all in their heads until one day Bam- there really is something wrong. Sometimes blood work and tests of any sort can be either done wrong, or the thing that is really there just does'nt show up for whatever reason. Just stick with it and push your drs to help you, that is what you are paying them for. If you are finding that you feel uncomfortable with the answers they are giving you or you feel that they are brushing you off, get a second opinion. That is your right as a patient. I don't know what kind of laws you have over there but I know it is that way here. You can request your lab results and films and whatever else, up to a complete copy of your medical record. Perhaps if you feel failed by your current dr then get a copy of everything and find another if possible. I hate that I can't help you out more than some general advice but I hope I helped you some. I do know that sitting around worrying about things and picturing all the bad possibilities can only expend your energy in other places than where you should be directing it, on getting better. I know how easy that advice is to give but I also know how valuable it really is to try to do. Feel free to email me or keep chatting on here if you would like. Good Luck!

Hi
Hi Michele. Thanks for those hints.
OK, i know that is a good sign, couse i have never had any headaches.
Maybe is this so, because i eat very healthy food,?
And i repeat you again: do you think there is still posibility to have tumor if i never had any headaches?
Hm..diabetes? ok, i can tell you my --blood sugar-- results = 4.4
Is this blood test result enough to show me, that it's all fine about diabetes?
i will remember those hints about doctors and requests. very good. and i agree with you about energy and psyche. how old r u, michele? and where r u from? can you tell me something more about your tumor, symptoms etc.?

Hey
Hey again, I suppose there is always a possibility for anything to going wrong, we are only humans, of course over-thinking that you may have a major disease is sort of a doorway to becoming a hypochondriac, ya know, so I hope for your sanitys sake that you don't overdo it but then on the other hand you have to vigilant to figure some stuff out for your self. I know for me, reading information about some things makes me think that I do indeed have that rare disease or something but then my common sense has to kick me in the butt to make me come to my senses. Like I said before I am still a newbie to all this tumor stuff, I found out about my first tumor in Dec 06 right before Cmas, but they failed to tell me about my second tumor untill 4 months later, which really makes me mad at them. But that is beside the point, You could possibly still have something majorly wrong with you but not have any major symptoms, alot of the really hard to find diseases or illness can sort of hibernate until they really come out in full force ya know...About the headaches or your lack there of, may just be something you have never had or you may have a high tolerance for pain as well, I am not sure. I can tell you some about me..I am 28 years old, I live in North Carolina, on the eastern side of the US. I have a anterior right sided pituitary tumor, measures 5mm, I am guessing all the way around, and I have a 8.5mm x 13 mm pineal gland tumor too. I have found out since then that I have kidney cysts, thyroid cysts, among other "little" problems ,which I have to go and have biopsied soon. My major symptoms were headaches which have since then gotten way worse, loss of my period for almost 2 years, just plain tired all the time, I was cold all the time, even in our 80 degree weather we have here now, loss of sex drive, breast lactation when my youngest child is already 5 years old. Moodiness and irrabiilty, way worse than normal for a woman =) memory loss, and vision problems. I am a photographer so I think I may of noticed the vision problems eariler than most people would, mine were just out and out double vision sometimes, bluriness on the edges of things, increased brightness to everything. I think the vision, headaches and menstral cycle disruption are the most common, of course in men impotence or low sperm count as well as loss of sex drive comes into play. Men can have breast discharge as well, I have read that most men with these type of tumors don't show that many symtoms for either the reason that you guys deal with physical pain better or hide it, or a man does'nt have the immediate loss of periods or something that women deal with every month , ya know...so when men do get dx'ed then their tumors are usually bigger b/c of the timing about it, Does that make sense? I hope so. Now..about the link you sent me, I have never heard of that, but I do plan on reading in a few minutes in more detail. The cause of tumors are really unknown, just like cancer. Some of the things I have read suggest everything from a sort of birth defect, to enviromental causes. Some people just get more sick with them too, they are supposedly common, I don't know a single person with anything like this..and they are usually found during autopsies so who knows really. I am thinking mine all started about 3 or 4 years ago. I have never really been one to really take care of myself cause I was always too busy doing for everyone else...So I think the stress levels and all that take part in it too. I do know that I have never felt worse or older in my whole life, and that includes breaking bones and childbirth. I am constantly sick to my stomach b/c of the meds and I have no energy, I have two little girls ages 9 and 5 and work a full time job and go to college so I need all the energy I can get and it is just not there, no matter how much coffee I drink or how much I excersice. I don't really know what to think about all of it yet, I am still in shock sort of. I think thou if you are feeling bad and not getting the answers from simple blood work, maybe you can request more in depth work ups..how does your countries medical policies go, are you all on a universal system or do you have to have medical insurance? I know that issue has been a struggle for me. I hope maybe something I said in this big ramble made sense, please feel free to email me personally if you would like to talk off these boards. My email is onesimplegurl00@yahoo.com
take it easy, Michele
