Q: Runs House

This is totally random, but i read about this on the abortion forum and i knew the baby died, but now im watching runs house and it's the most horrible thing, they knew that the baby had problems, i dont remember what but they knew and they didnt tell anyone, and she died at birth and the boys came in and said 'was it a boy or a girl' and they were all excited and the mom was like "it's a girl, it was a girl" and the looks on their faces were so horrible Sad

and they were like "she.. she died?" and it was just really sad. i think it's horrible that they broke the news to the kids on camera like that. and i started crying, the looks on their faces were so sad, sigh.

i don't know why i made a thread about this, because it's about a baby i guess, it's just sad. it makes me mad that they did it on camera.

I never watched the show. But I remember hearing in the news that they weren't going to do another season because of their loss. I assumed it was a miscarriage. How do you not prepare your children for news like that? Maybe, they didn't know it was a life threatening condition and that she would just have problems. What a horrible experience to have, let alone in front of america.

I think they were hoping for a miracle, to be honest. They knew the baby would be born with serious health problems, but they were probably hoping that she would pull through. Unfortunately she didn't.

It's extremely sad. I don't know how I would begin to deal with something like that. Crying or Very sad

No it's not fiction.

I don't like the way they're trying to bypass the grieving process.. that's terrible. "We don't look back".. it's like they don't even wanna remember the daughter they created.

I think what they did was brave. They're trying to show people that *everyone* grieves. and you *can* pull through it.

Of course, people are going to take it differently. You must have not watched the whole episode. I saw them on 2-3 occasions pray to the .lord and bless .victoria .ann(the baby) for coming to them. Even if it was briefly.

What did you expect them to terminate the baby because she had a problem??? THey have the funds to care for a mentally/physically retarded child and were willing.

They now plan on adopting.

nobody implied they should have terminated. we're all saying they should have prepared the other children for what might happen (and did). they knew the baby had a good chance of not making it but they didn't tell anyone that. those little boys (i'm assuming, i don't know the show or the family) had no idea there might be a problem and had to go through the shock of finding out their new baby sister had died on camera.

i also don't like the way they're acting like "grieve and get over it". not everyone grieves the same and it's a really personal thing and you need to take as much time as you need.

maybe i read it the wrong way, but that's how i took it.

i never said they should have terminated the pregnancy, thanks, i don't agree with abortion. the whole topic is about them telling the boys on camera instead of preparing them first. I do think it's brave that they kept on with the pregnancy, but I think they should have told the kids off camera instead of breaking the news to them in front of america, it was awful.

I really didn't think anyone would jump down my throat for having an opinion.

But this part of the story just made me think "what the heck??".. I admit I *didn't* see the programme, so I'm just going by what it says on that link..

"Rev. Run: diggy might have taken it the hardest, but I didn't let him. I had him out on the skateboard the first day. Basically we teach our kids thankfulness. We all cry, but not a long period of it. We don't have pictures [of victoria anne]. We don't look back. We don't want the walls of our house to start crying, and everything to just crumble around us."

The "I didn't let him" part seems a lil harsh. Let the poor bugger grieve.

It's just the way he worded it that bugs me.. but again, I didn't see it so I'm just giving an opinion based on how that all sounds in my head.

And no, I wouldn't have expected such devout christians to terminate a pregnancy.. personally I think I would have done, but that thought never crossed my mind while I was reading it.

i agree with that 100%. i dont agree with them at all. its unhealthy to not greive. if you just bottle all those emotions up like that and not look back, it can result in some messed up emotional problems.

I was completely shocked that they showed that on tv. Unforunately I did see that. I don't watch the show, but I happened to catch this particular episode. I thought it was terrible to put their kids through that, especially those young boys....they had no clue their baby sister might not make it. When kids are that young, they don't know about miscarriages and stillbirths...I really disagree with how they "handled it". To me, it was very cold hearted and seemed as if it was no big deal. Confused
And it's not like they showed the episode just one time....I've seen it on 2 times so far.
