Q: Abnormal Neck Thickness

Hi,
I've just done my detailed ultrasound screening on my week 19. My doctor just told me that my baby's neck thickness is thicker than normal. My blood test triple screening result is normal. I will need to go and see another medical genetics. I'm wondering anyone has this problem before? What is the odd to have a down syndrome baby? I'm getting very worry.

Thanks,

I was told with my first son that he had a thick neck and that there was a possibility of Downs but because the only reason they wanted to do a amnio was to see if he had it or not I chose not to because he was my baby and it didnt matter to me, I was going to love him no matter what. I am glad that I didnt make a big deal of this because this Aug. he will be turning 7 yrs old and he is doing great, no Downs. I wish you luck in your pregnancy and I hope that all goes well.
