(POLYSPORIN Antibiotic provides infection protection that helps speed healing)


so my question..... will this lower the effectiveness of my birth control since its an antibiotic.....? I have been using it for a reallllly bad cut i have...

Call your health provider.

Some antibiotics do lower the effectivness of brith control and some don't, so you're better safe than sorry and use a condom until a week after you finish the antibiotics.

I do not think so. Polysporin is something topical as opposed to something you ingest, correct? If so, I do not think it will interfere with your birth control in any way, but whenever you're unsure about something like that, ask your ob-gyn or use condoms just to be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry.

Oh you're right!

If what you have is antiseptic ointment, then I don't think it will interfere. But I'd ask a doctor to be sure. Pregnancy is nothing to be unsure about!
