Ok I am 19 years old and am under weight for my age. My question is how do I calculate how much calories I need a day to start gaining some weight so that I can work it into muscle?

Thanks for your time.

Hun, if you want to put on weight, start hitting the gym....Its the only way you will be able to increase your muscle mass. Along with weight training, add protein and carbohydrates to your diet....You can do this easily with protein powders that are high in carbs...Usually called weight gainer right on the labels...If you want more info on this, I could send you tonnes of info (i am in the health/fitness/bodybuilding industry). Don't focus on numbers for calories. People tend to get wrapped up in that stuff, and neglect what is important: eating quality food (qulaity protein sources, carbohydrates, veggies, etc) supplemented by a weight training regime. (if you need info on this, I can help ya too..Just send me a pm). Just don't load up on macdonalds and crap-tacular food like that...That will not give you your desired effects...Instead, you will be skinny with a flabby tummy!
