Hi -maybe somehone can help me. Almost 45 years ago, I got a large sliver of old wood under my thumb nail. Could not get it out no matter what we did. I have not had acrylic nail for 7 years, but when I did ever so often I would get a black mark on my thumb nail only, and it would finally grow out. Last sept. It got so bad that the black mark comes, then water gets underneath it and I get a hole, and push out the water. Last time I thought maybe this is the last time? Went to my dermatologist, and she tested it and a month later came back not fungus she stated trauma. I had hit it then, but I am now having the same problem, and I did not hit it. Anyone got some suggestions. This has been driving me crazy. I have a weekly manicure and take care of my hands.
