Ok I've been trying to get some modelling work for a couple of years now.. I was offered a couple of contracts a while ago but I had to pay to set up my own portfolio which I couldn't afford at the time and then I got pregnant.. so I couldn't do it.

Well I have a profile on a modelling website, and I'd forgotten about it.. so last night I updated it and put new pics on there, and this morning I got an email from a photographer. He wants me to do a paid lingerie-modelling photoshoot.

I want to do it, and god knows I need the money.. but I know .Jonny would hate me doing something like that. He gets jealous of me talking to other guys, let alone stripping down to my underwear and posing for a camera.

Jonny and I are working on our relationship.. the child support agency are getting the money off him every month and he accepts it's the right thing to do.. so from that point of view we're getting along fine.. but I don't know if I can do this if it's going to make him unhappy.

So I guess my question is.. what would you do?

its your life, do what makes you happy, dont wait around for a guys approval.
plus, its not like you are married to him or anything, and who knows if you will work it out....if you dont do this....you may regret it forever and wish you had the opportunity again.
but i would first of all make sure that this photographer is legit. there are plenty of creeps out there. i have gotten plenty of modeling job offers, but if anyone asks you to pay anything, it is *not* legit. you should not have to pay anything to be a model.

I agree with .Natalia 100%. It's your life, and you need to do what you need to do to be happy and provide a life for your beautiful daughter.

Some people get paid to uphold the law, some people get paid to make sick people healthy, and some people get paid to model underwear. It's a job, and nothing to be jealous of, besides what a wonderful opportunity!!! Your lucky to have a body to do that after having a little one!

Diddo!

Def check this guy out! I have been offered many underwear modeling jobs....honey I am not model Rolling Eyes

But you are beautiful and could definitely be a modle so don't discount this guy right away. Just make sure you look into it.

Have you brought the idea up to Jonny?

Do you have a photography or av school near you? Sometimes, you can get a student to do a photoshoot for free so that they can use you in their prortfolio. That is how we got our photographer for our wedding. He needed to build a rounded portfolio, so we got free wedding pics. It's a win win situation. Just an idea.

wow that sounds like a good oppurtunity and i'd go for it but be careful. there are alot of people ou there out to screw people over. beware that he may want you to do pornographic shoots or some even want you to sleep with them as 'pay' for their photos

I completely understand about you being iffy because of johnny, I would be too if he didn't like it! But like someone else has asked, hav eyou brought it up to him yet? Maybe you could tell him how much you want to do it and how happy it'd make you and that it's a great opportunity to get your foot in the door? Maybe that you understand how he feels so maybe he could be there during the shoot just to watch the guy and make sure he isn't funky?

I don't know, I'm just trying to think of some stuff that I'd try if I were you lol

Thanks for the replies, girls.

I'm going to check out his profile and see if he has good references from other models.. and if I'm not happy I won't even reply to his message. I know these things can be dodgy, and even if he did seem legitimate I'd take a friend with me to the photoshoot.

Jonny's at work right now so I texted him about it.. but so far he hasn't replied. I know he's not going to like it, but I think I *might* be able to convince him if I could prove the photographer wasn't a creep.

I would deffinatly check this guy out first just to be on the safe side. I would love to do some modelling work and would be so flattered if somebody wanted me to do lingerie shots after having a baby. I had a few people interested in me before i got pregnant but i called it off when i got pregnant because it wasn't exactly appropiate. I was supposed to be doing lingerie and kinda burlesque type shots if that makes any sense, i shouldn't have been considered to do either of them but i took it upon myself to tell them i was 18 because i really wanted to do it

make sure the guys is for real and is OK.
take someone with you - never go to shots alone.
modelling lingerie is no different to walking the beach in a bikini.
remember you have the right at anytime to say "no" if you feel to exposed in a certain piece of lingerie or if asked to remove anything.

and finally - never do shots that you wouldn't let your grandma/mother see.
