I, personally, have moderate social anxiety disorder. Therapists can do wonderful things to help you with the fears. There are also many medications available to help as well. Have you spoken to a doctor about your concerns?

It is a very common condition. I think that you should speak to your doctor about it. There are many things that they can do to help.

Do what mc4ever02 said. However, in order to overcome a fear - you must face it. I had social anxiety just a short while ago but what I started doing is going out all the time and being in public places and hanging out with friends. The more you are surrounded by social situations, the less fear of them you start to have. It's true.

That is very common. You are definitely not alone in feeling that way. Counseling will probably be the most help for you. Have you looked into counseling at all?

So do you feel better if it's dark? I'm like that when I was a in high school. I had baggy eyes and whenever I see people walking towards me I bow my head down while I walk. THat really catches their attention a lot and I get paranoid if whether they're talking about me. All of that happened when I was in elementary to high school. The thing is, people don't really care about you as long as you aren't doing anything strange. They got problems of their own. Plus they absolutely even have some insecurities too on themselves. So it's okay to relax and lay back. Try this, instead of thinking that they're looking at you, do it to some people. Stare at people and don't break it till they do, of course, your facial expression should be calm and secure. It kinda worked on me but I don't know if it would too on other people. But regardless, try it. Though I think it's a dumb advice, try it.
