I recently had a partial hysterectomy; uterus removed however tubes, cervix remained. This may sound dumb, but what happens to the eggs that are still produced? There is no uterus for them to be deposited...Also, I feel like I recently had a period cycle even after the surgery. Please explain... Surprised

If eggs are produced, the simply float into the abdomen and instead of being taken into the fallopian tube, they probably just dissolve. That is if they are produced at all!!

I recal reading that part of the uterus is necessary to produce the horomones needed to cause ovulation.

It may be due to your ovaries releasing horomones on their own. You may also be going through menopause - actually, you should be, since your uterus is gone. But I'd like someone else on here to confirm that.

Tubes being removed
I had a partial hysterectomy in November of 2007
about 6 weeks after surgery I started experiencing sharp pain in my ovaries,
first one side than the other. I had a CT scan and it has showed my tubes are growing larger. Doctor said he must remove the tubes now.
Will my pain finally go away? He said that they were full of fluid and is causing the sharp pain in both sides. I really need a 2nd opinion.
Please can an expert advise me?
