Teaching Babies Words And Numbers Etc
Posted: 04-22-07 08:00am

My mom found this website that has like videos on it and books etc and it looks really kewl and i soooooooooo wish i could afford it, to help joseph start talking etc but they recommend some from 6 mths up so i thought id share in case any of u were interested in looking at it
http://www. babybumblebee.com/store/main_store.cfm#VB< /a>

im getting my mom to look for flashcards at walmart for me for now since eh they are alot cheaper but those videos look so awesome i wanna buy em sooooo bad Sad they have volume sets that are like $99 for like 5 videos or something. maybe when we get our taxes back i can buy it Smile cuz i really think it would help alot with joseph he turns 2 in august, he used to say a few words but now doesnt say any of them anymore. sometimes it sounds like he says real words but he wont repeat them, his attention span is like 0 so its hard to get him to pay attention to like show him body parts etc to learn them. I mean he talkes just in his own little language he will blab and blab, im just alil worried that he doesnt reallly say any words.

I looked at them. I want to talk to my husband about buying the 5 volume set. Thanks for sharing.
I am an early intervention teacher. I teach pre-k and kindergarten special education students. Boys start speaking later than girls. They say not to worry about a boy not talking until he's 3 years old. I personally would worry sooner than that being a parent, but the experts say it's normal for them not to speak until 3 years old. After that, if he's not speaking, I'd get him evaluated for speech therapy.

yeah cuz he does talk, just not any english words u can understand. he will blab on and on in his own little language but he used to say byebye , mama , dada, kitty cat, juice stuff like that and he doesnt ever say any of it anymore, he still thinks theres a baby in my belly haha he always points and says babah, so eh i gotta get him to realize its a belly and no baby in there anymore lol

At least it's a child and not an adult saying that. lol
I lost all but 4 lbs from my pregnancy and the other night at a wedding a girl asked me if I was pregnant again. I was upset. lol
I pretty much lost all of my weight, but I still have some extra belly that made it look like I was pregnant I guess. lol
b*)ch! lol

thats awful! people are rude these days lol but they don't notice it i guess... but still.

my cousin bryce is 3... and a few months ago he would hardly say anything! we were worried... he'd scream and yell and talk in his "own little language" that just sounded like grunts and sounds lol and he still does it sometimes but now that he's around another kid (his moms dating and he's got a 2 year old girl) he's talking soo much now. i'm sure he'll start talking soon! yea joseph used to be around brandys kid lexy she just turned 2 this month and she says alot of words but she is also a girl. He understands alot but just doesnt talk. but i guess his language is better then not saying anything, sometimes when he wants something he almost looks like he uses sign langauge he twists his hand around like hes turning a knob and reaches out if he wants something. Sucks he isnt around kids anymore, but i try to teach him body parts so far but his attention span is 0 so it is very hard. i hope my mom finds flashcards with pictures to help him. pediatrician never seemed worried so im not really but i wanna help him out too. I wish we could afford daycare even to put him i n a few days a week, we might look into it when jasons back from afghanistan after he goes when josephs alittle older, just so he can be around other kids before he starts school.

i know logan is only 15 months but he did the same thing. a few months back he could say about 10 words but now all he says is 'down' when he wants to be on my lap- he means up. 'there'- when he is pointing to something and 'mama'.

he refuses to say anything else he just screams to try and get his own way Rolling Eyes

Josephs first word was at 8-9 mths he said kitty cat, but he would whisper it and say "kih kah" everytime he saw our cat. He doesnt say that anymore, the only thing he says audibly is whats that and points, for now. i try and get him to say byebye and stuff but he just walks off and does his own thing..

you know i think him and logan are the same way. layla speaks soooo much but it's not all understandable. she put sentances together really well and i try and sit logan down and teach him words but he is not interested. i taught him 'door' the other day and when i tried to get him to say it again a few hours later he wouldn't. my cousins baby who is a month younger than him says loads of words and i was a bit embarrassed Embarassed

that been said, joesph isn't even two yet. i'm sure he'll pick up things at nursery (although i was hoping logan would pick things up from layla)
