For one, I know very well that you can't just let a case of herpes go and forget all about it without feeling a severe acute pain sensation everytime the affected area or outbreak is rubbed.
Two, was your partner sexually active before you and him got together? Usually I've been hearing a lot of virgins being attacked by 'non-existing ghost like viruses'.
Three, if you really did have an outbreak...before this scab occured, did the area affected of herpes emit any virus laden clear fluid? And if so, how long? Was the cut surrounded in the swelling of skin? Before and after discovering this scab, had you first felt as a tingling and/or itching sensation in the affected location?
Honestly, you didn't do well enough research on herpes to make assumptions that you have the case. One thing is for certain, depending on how severe the herpes generally arise in outbreaks similar to acne-blister like formation. And if you did have an outbreak, you wouldn't be like 'ohp, oh well' and be occupied by other things. If herpes had been submitted to you by sex, you would have erosion blister like outbreaks that would be emitting a virus laden clear fluid for days and then followed by the many blisters to scab up. Also a result in some cases of herpes, the affected persons will experience headaches, fatigue, and peculiar twitching sensations in the nerves that lead to the area of the outbreak.
Like I've mentioned before in a recent thread, it's common for people now a days, for them to go onto the internet and look at the symptoms of each std, comparing their issues and think worse of their problems.
Mind you this, after the scab goes away between a week to 10 days, and you come down with another out break and it gets severe to the symptoms I had mentioned, then you will need to talk to your doctor. Also, if you do have herpes...the thing about herpes, is the outbreaks will go away for a period of time and then will return. Even though the outbreaks are gone for an absence of time, that case of herpes can still be transmitted to those who do not have herpes.
hope this helps, good luck.
