I have been diagnosed with Manic Depressive/ BiPolar. I have never taken it seriously before. I would quit taking my medicine and a few years later I ended up back in the hospital a couple of more times. This time last month I ended up back in the hospital with major depression. This time I am taking this real seriously. It is a real disease. I have been diagnosed with BiPolar 1.

Welcome to the forum! Very Happy
Bipolar IS a disease and should be taken very serious. With the right meds and maybe counselling, you can lead a pretty normal life. The key is to continue taking your meds. You almost have to view it like you would if you were diagnosed with diabetes.
Good luck!
