Has anyone ever adopted a baby? Me and my fiance are looking for a way to adopt a baby, preferrably a few months old. I can't find any good websites so I was just wanting to know what you have to do to adopt and how much.

I believe you need to contact your local state council or whatever you guys call them.
please do adoption the official way and not through some back street website, hun.
try:-
adoption.org
adopting.org
adoptioncouncil.org
I don't know the validity of those sites.

Even call the hospital and ask to be put in touch with a reputable adoption agency.

Well, can a 18 year old (me) and a 16 year old (fiance) adopt or is there a certain age limit to adopt? I want to choose the gender and the age but I just don't know what I have to do. But I will look up the nearest adoption agency here.

I don't know about the age thing. he might be to young because of 18 being an adult. But I could be wrong. I had placed a child up for adoption at the age of 16 and I had to go through hundreds of letters to pick the parents. If you have to go through that process your age might be a deterant for some. If you don't mind me asking why are you thinking of adopting? Do you know already that you will be unable to conceive?

a 16-year old will not be allowed to adopt. 18 is an adult.

adoption is very expensive. i'm just guessing but i think it's somewhere around $20,000. most people take out a loan or a second mortgage to be able to adopt.

Randee, recently lost a baby due to trisomy 13.
it is unlikely but not impossible to have a non trisomy 13 pregnancy.
with genetic counselling it could be a possibility, but almost all natural conceptions after trisomy 13 result in trisomy 13 too.
