I'm sorry, but .i've never heard of 'cucumber powder'. However, after a quick google search I did find out that bay leaves are known to help with colic. However, I would advise you to speak with your child's doctor before starting him/her on any home remedies. Good luck!

Thanks for your advise. Its not for my child as I was really lucky with my 2nd baba and he didnt suffer from colic. Its a friend of mine who already uses the powder but she empties the powder directly onto baby's tongue. Ive seen the baby "gag" a couple of times when she does this and I am not sure its safe to put powder onto tongue. I just wanted to know if other mothers do this.

How old is the baby? One website I saw said that "colic powder" can be given with a spoon (without water) if the baby is over a certain age month-wise, but .i'm not a doctor and am not familiar with these powders, so I couldn't say for certain. Have you brought your concerns up with your friend? Is she following her doctor's advice or is she treating her baby's colic herself?

the baby is only 3mths. the doctor did give her the powder but not sure what was said about how to give them. I did mention that i didnt think she should give powder without water. but she is not the type of person that takes advise easily. She also gives the baby 3hr old formula milk that i said she should not do as you are only supposed to use it for an hour, but she said its ok to use the only reason they put that on formula milk is so people buy more!!
