Hi
I am not a doctor, but it sounds like to me your nerves are on edge! You are nervous around her, thus keeps your stomach tied up in a knot? Try to relax way before you get together. Just a suggestion!

thanks for you suggestion. i understand where you're coming from, but it's jsut hard to shake the feeling. i think it has to do with her leaving next year for college, but do you have any ideas for trying to get rid of the feeling?

thanks so much!

Hi
There isn't really much you can do unless you set your mind to it. I do believe we have the ability to control a lot about our own bodies. You get yourself all worked up and the nausea is a way your body deals with being all nervous and stressed. Breathing exercises work for me. Start practicing way before you are to go and be with your girlfriend! In a quiet place/room sit on the floor comfortably. I sit cross legged. Close your eyes and let your mind think of nothing except breathing. Breath in to the count of 8....nice concentrated inhale through your nose-mouth closed. Hold breath to the count of 5, then exhale slowly to the count of 8 blowing out of your mouth.. Try not to allow anything to disturb you while doing htis. All oyu need to do at this time is concnetrate on breathing in and out. Do this several times...at least 5 minutes. Once you get hte hang of it, you can do it longer or as you need. I find it relaxes me and I am not as stressed! Hope this helps!

Shocked Wasn't there a southpark character who did that?? Wink

Anyways, it sounds kinda nervous to me. I was so anxious once about traveling that i puked three times in the train station before I got on the train. I don't even really know what I was anxious about in the first place. Is being with your GF the only thing that makes you anxious?

"Fairy Godmother" thank you so much for trying to help me.

as for "southpark" person, it's not really cool to make fun of something like this. if you're in this forum, you've needed help with some type of thing or another, so you don't have a right to jab at people and what they are feeling.

however, i do get anxious when i'm with or going to be with my girlfriend. the feelings i feel are either nausea when i'm with her or just a knot in my stomach. this is so frustrating because i just want it to go away, and when i think about it, it happens.....any ideas for helping make this stop?
