Have you talked to your ob-gyn? I was on Depo for five years. I have been off it for about two. I got my regular periods back within a few months. I don't know if it has effected my fertility at all though. I have not gotten pregnant. I also did not know that Depo can cause irreversible bone loss until I was off it. I was young, like you, when I was on it. I also did not know that it is not recommended for young people until after I was off it. Now, I don't recommend the shot to anyone.

I was on the shot for over a year and it mad me crazy! As far as going off of it.... It took me over a year of being off it and then I got pregnant. I didn't have problems as far as my period goes. It took me about three or four months to get my regular cycle back. I hope this helps a little. You know if you talk to your OB-GYN they could give you a prescription to make you get your period. I have taken it and it is very effective.

I have only been on the depo shot for three monthes and already HATE IT!!!! I had my son on Jan 25 got the shot the next day, and still haven't stopped bleeding!!!!!! I have to go in next week to get my next shot, but I don't think I am even going to get it and try something else because this is ridiculius!

I hated the shot as well. I was on it for a year and hated every bit of it. I not get a period for 3-4 months after getting off it. but took about another year for everythimg to go back to normal.
