My husband just had a varicocele surgery and it has been a month since the surgery. I have heard that it can take up to 6 months to see any progress but that some people can show progress in a couple of weeks. Has anyones husband had this procedure done or can anyone give me information on this. i tried to look it up on the internet but it doesn't give me quite what I want to hear.

Has anyone had any success after this surgery and how long did it take?

Hi,

Thank you for posting a reply! It has been about 3 months since the surgery. We had a doc appt. exactly 1 month after the surgery to see if there was any progress in his sperm! disappointing, everything was the same. His doc. told us the it usually stays about the same (his sperm count) after the surgery that we have to give it at least 6 months for the new sperm to produce. She wants us to go in every month to do a semen analysis, but we decided to wait maybe 2 months before we go back. We just hate to get disappointing news. Please keep me informed! I will write back and let you know how his second test goes! We should go next month.
