Q: How Short Is Too Short????

Ok, so this is my first month of using bbt and fertility friend and from what they have shown is that I ovulated on cd 14. I usually and almost always have a 26 day cycle, so that would put my luteal (sp?) phase at only 12 days. I have heard some people talking about their luteal phase being so short that it can affect implamentation and cause it not to happen.

Sooo my question is... How short is to short of a luteal phase? How common among all of you is it to have a short lp? Does anyone know what can be done about it?

Hi Star
Anything less than 10 days is considered too short. So you are good!
I'm glad you're charting and on FF, it will help answer a lot of questions when you are ttc.
How much longer do you have to wait?

Well I have to have three seperate treatments for the displatia and I just had my second one yesterday. We have been using protection ever since the doctor told me that is what we would need to do, which was about March 19th when we started protecting. I asked the doctor yesterday how much longer I would have to wait and she almost forgot that I was ttc. Nice right??? She was talking about using a condom for 6 to 12 more months... And I was like Shocked Shocked Shocked What???

Then she said ohhh you are ttc right? Then she said that she wanted to schedule another pap for 3 months after the last treatment and if it came back ok then we were good to go with ttc again. So all in all I will have to put ttc on hold for a total of 4 months. My last treatment is on April 30th and so that puts me at the first of August before we can start again.

So at least I will get some good practice with temping so that I will be ready when we can try again.

Oh Star...August? That totally sucks. But when you are all cleared, I bet you $1M that you get bfp right away, and the only reason it's wasn't happening is because you just needed to get better.
Lots of time to practice, and get fit....and enjoy the last months of just the two of you. Take that trip you've always wanted to take...and go all the places you couldn't take a little one.
