Sometimes, that is the way I feel too.
But, there is a lot of wonderful things that happen in the world too, but this doesn't make the headlines as it is not as "interesting"

I don't think they know yet if it was 2 gunmen or not. I think that they believe that it is only one because of eye witness accounts.
There are allot of rumors running around right now so I am sorta waiting for concrete answers.

Shocked what is happening with this world where people think it's okay to take a gun and kill lots of people because they're having a bad day?

CNN Headline news just reported 20 are dead! Apparently there were 2 different shootings. One inside a classroom where the most casualties happened and then the second in a dorm room where 1 was killed and 1 was wounded. They keep saying everything is unconfirmed. A guy I work with's wife goes to school there and he is flipping out because the cell phones are jammed down there and he cant get through. The VA tech president is doing a news conference there.Melissa

yes its 32 dead now and 28 wounded... I just can't believe this... So the shooter from the first shooting this morning is dead, and then there was a second guy?? That's nuts! I've been trying to figure out what the heck happened! Why were kids still in class after the first shooting? Could they not get out?

I saw that! I think they are saying that the first shooting happened at 7:15 am and that shooter was killed. The second round of shooting that killed so many people was done by a different person and he is in custody - I THINK. I am not sure what the #$% is going on down there!

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech today, killing 21 people in the deadliest campus shooting rampage in U.S. history. The gunman was killed, bringing to death toll to 22, but it was unclear if he was shot by police or took his own life.“Today the university was struck with a tragedy that we consider of monumental proportions,” said Virginia Tech president Charles Steger. “The university is shocked and indeed horrified.”The name of the gunman was not immediately released, and investigators offered no motive for the attack. It was not immediately known if the gunman was a student.FBI spokesman Richard Kolko in Washington said there was no immediate evidence to suggest it was a terrorist attack, “but all avenues will be explored.”The bloodbath took place at opposite sides of the 2,600-acre campus, beginning at about 7:15 a.m. at West Ambler Johnston, a coed dormitory that houses 895 people, and continuing about two hours later at Norris Hall, an engineering building, authorities said.Police said they were still investigating the shooting at the dorm — and the campus was under lockdown, with students to stay indoors and away from the windows — when authorities got word of gunfire at the classroom building. Some of the dead were students. One student was killed in the dorm, and the others were killed in the classroom, Virginia Tech Police Chief W.R. Flinchum.Up until today, the deadliest campus shooting in U.S. history was a rampage that took place in 1966 at the University of Texas at Austin, where Charles Whitman climbed the clock tower and opened fire with a rifle from the 28th-floor observation deck. He killed 16 people before he was shot to death by police. In the Columbine High bloodbath near Littleton, Colo., in 1999, two teenagers killed 12 fellow students and a teacher before taking their own lives. The deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was in Killen, Texas, in 1991, when George Hennard drove his pickup into a Luby’s Cafeteria and shot 23 people to death, then himself.Founded in 1872, Virginia Tech is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia, about 160 miles west of Richmond. With more than 25,000 full-time students, it has the state’s largest full-time student population. The school is best known for its engineering school and its powerhouse football team. The rampage took place on a brisk spring day, with snow flurries swirling around the campus, which is is centered around the Drill Field, a grassy field where military cadets — who now represent a fraction of the student body — once practiced. The dorm and the classroom building are on opposites sides of the Drill Field.A gasp could be heard at a campus news conference when the police chief said at least 20 people had been killed. Previously, only one person was thought to have been killed.Investigators from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began marking and recovering the large number of shell casings and will trace the weapon used, according to an ATF official who spoke on condition of anonymity because local authorities are leading the investigation.

That is the most up to date on what they are confirming. The story keeps changing but it now looks like the gun man shot at 7 something in the dorm first and then escaped and made it to the other side of the school and shot up a classroom. Only 1 died at the dorm and the rest at the classroom. Then the gunman died- unsure if he shot himself or police shot him. I havnt heard that it was over a girl yet. I am a receptionist and we have a TV in the lobby which is always on the news... so i have been following this for hours now. its extremely sad and i just cant stop shaking my head at how horrible this all is.

My nephew plays football for Virginia Tech. I spoke to my family just minutes ago and he is fine, thank God. Just having to stay in his dorm room until told otherwise. My prayers go out the students and families affected by this tragedy.

geez! everytime they come back from commercial they confirm more dead... they cant keep up with it. They said because of the wind they cant get the injured life flighted out to other hospitals. it is really really windy here... they said like 50 mile an hour gusts. so the people that are dead are the ones who were just injured and now they cant get life support helicopters to take them to get help... this is just so horrible!

.i know you were quoting someone, but I just want to say that it's .killeen, not .killen. We lived in .copperas .cove and .killeen up until I was 14 years old. We owned a pet store in .killeen on the other side of the highway from that .luby's. My parents used to eat there a lot. The killings happened when I was sitting in class. I remember freaking out thinking my parents were dead. He was shot in the shoulder by police before turning the gun on himself - my dad knew the guy who shot him. Killeen is a pretty small town.

This is one of the major reasons why .luby's .cafeterias don't have huge plate-glass windows now. Well, they do, but not ground-to-ceiling like they used to. He drove his truck through the window, and there was no brick to stop him. I want to say that he let some of the women and children go before he started killing people, but I'm not entirely sure. I was only 9 or 10 when it happened.
