i have been on birth control for a loong time now. and i have to admit i dont take it at the same time on the weekends as i do during the week. usually its about 2 or 3 hours later. anyways, my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex last night and he went inside of me. according to the research i have done, i should be ovulating in about 2 days. should i be worried about pregnancy?

You should be fine if you take it within 2-3 hours. I believe you have to be 6 hours late for it to be concidered missed.

However, if you are on a low dose it could cause some breakthrough bleeding and you should be very careful about taking it on time. While you may take it a few hours late occasionally, you should not let this happen on a regular basis.

Technically it would need to be 12 hours late before it could be a mised pill..

The pill stops ovulation!! It takes control over your body, so the 'rules' about when you ovulate do not count when you are on the pill.

Right. You were not late enough for it to really be a problem. Keep taking it every day and at roughly the same time every day. However, keep in mind that no method of birth control is 100%. So even if you take the pill exactly as intended, there is still a small chance of pregnancy. You can use something like spermicide for extra protection if you want.

Don't worry. You'll be fine! That is why you went on birth control, so you wouldn't have to worry about things like this. Let it do its job and try to enjoy yourself in the meantime. Wink

I always have an alarm go off when it's time to take my pill everynight. I use my phone so if I am out and about I can still take it, so I also try to remember to take the pills with me if I know I wont be home. I used to always be late on taking it, because I would come home from work and relax and do other things, then suddenly it's late and I am lying in bed.."oh shoot, gotta take my pill!" Lol.
Like everyone else is saying though. I dont think you have anything to worry about.
