i get get terrible muscle pain at base of spine that goes right to the anal area and find it hard to sit some times the only thing to eleviate this the use of ibruferen
i feel constipated most of the time and when i pass a stool it makes this pain worse it some times feels like i have a golf ball up there any thoughts or remedys

Coccydynia
It sounds like you have coccydynia, which is a fancy way of saying "pain and inflammation at the coccyx". If it is better when you sit on a soft chair or lean backwards to avoid putting direct pressure on it, this could be what you have. Some people are anatomically predisposed to this or they have an injury to this area. If the pain persists, you should consult a doctor, or better yet, an osteopath for reccomendations and tratment. I assume you have checked for golf balls... Laughing

I'm going thru the same thing right now. I'm having a hard time pin pointing where the pain is coming from...my anus or my tailbone. I see this post was in April. Did you get any answers on you pain?
