I have a tilted uterus as well. I asked my previous ob/gyn this same question. He said that it could make the process longer. But it is still very probable to become pregnant. He was not able to give me any advice on how to assist, such as positions or anything. However, I think he was a quack. Laughing

I have not asked my current ob/gyn. But I will at my next appt. If you get a chance to ask yours first, please let me know.

Thank god i have finally found some women on here who also have a tilted uterus. Well i got pregnant but it took me about 1 year but i lost the baby at about 8 weeks. But it doesnt make getting pregnant any harder. I talked to my ob about this and she said that we are all the same but we just have a tilted uterus is all. Every women is different so maybe you will get pregnant alot sooner than i did. Nothing will change and no secret position will help you. Because i have a problem getting to semen to stay in me after sex i would just lay there for about a half hour after sex and it seems to work well. Also may i suggest that you do it 1st thing in the morning. I did it with my finace 1st thing in the morning for like a week straight and boom i was pregnant. I hope this helps you and let me know if you find anything else out about the tilted uterus as there arnt many ppl i know who have one. Feel free to pm me if you have anymore questions.

Well I know I stated this in another post, but since people with tilted uterus' have to lay differntly to get the "pool" near the cervix, i am going to try something else. my husband and I are going to put his "seed" in an instead softcup and make it stay next to my cervix...for more than teh half hour I'd be laying in bed....I figure that eventhough peopel say it's not a fertility barrier, the sheer fact that you can't lay on your back to get the pool near the cervix is enough proof for me that I need to do soemthing to put the pool where it needs to be. I will let you know how it goes......

We've been trying for 8 months...I have been tracking my ovulation for a year with a clearblue fertility monitor...we thought it'd be easier than this. With each disappointment it gets harder not to try these little experiments...we wanted to avoid making conception into a science project...we wanted our baby to be conceived naturally becasue we love each other, but after so many disappointments we have decided to try things. We both want a family badly and I will be 32 next week...since we want to have 2 or 3 babies it's important that we don't spend 2 years to conceive the first one... then I will be even older when we try to have the others. Just like everyone else, we hope our dreams come true and we don't find oursleves like some other unfortunate couples that struggle for years with not getting pregnant or having miscarriages. I hope it works and if it does I will scream it from the mountain tops! How long have you been trying? Any thing unusual you've tried?

Well...that's a tough question. I have been off birth control for about two months. But I believe that I am only just now ovulating (yesterday/today). And I am not allowed to try *anything*. My husband wants it to "just happen" and he doesn't want it to feel like a "science experiment" (his exact words Rolling Eyes ) Which, believe me, is proving to be much more difficult than I originally thought.

There are some other ladies on here your age. And around the same time line of ttc as well. You should definitely stick around. It is amazing how much the support of these wonderful ladies will help. Especially, when those bfn's or af show up. It good to have someone to talk to that understands.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what exactly is a tilted uterus? I have heard it before, but I just didn't know what it meant. How did you find out about it? Did your Obgyn tell you or did you ask them about it. I am just wondering if there was anything that you noticed that led you to know aout the tilted uterus. What happens because you have one???

Just fishing, because I don't understand it.

Well, you can have a tilted uterus in all directions (back and forward or it could leen to either side) Mine personally leans backward. Yup, at my first ob/gyn appt my doctor said " you have a tilted uterus" mind you I was 14 at the time and slightly flipped. But it is nothing as horrible as it sounds. Laughing Most womens uterus' tilt slightly. I happen to have a significantly tilted. My mother and grandmother both have this as well. It is also called many things tilted, tipped, retroverted, ect.

Depending on what doctor you ask they all have different opinions. I have been told that it will not prevent me from becoming pregnant, but it could make it more difficult. Some women are told it has no bearing at all on pregnancy. I have also been told that it will normally correct itself between 8-12 weeks of pregnancy. Occationally, it doesn't and you are at a higher risk for miscarriage. However, agian, I believe this is speculation.

I was told during my first pelvic exam as well...but I didn't get much info other than it happens to like 20% of the population...at the time I wasnt' concerned with pregnancy so I didn't ask any more questions. It wasn't until i started reading about pregnancy that it came back into play. it use to be that they thought it might hamper conception...now the claim si that it doens', but might lengthen how long it takess to happen. I think that the fact that the cervix doesn't hit the pool of sperm when relaxed in bed is part of it...that's why i want to use artifical means to hold the semen in place on my cervix....would your husband be open to putting an instead softcup in once you guys do it naturally...I've heard of other girls doing this to hold some of it in there?????????? maybe once your husband finds out that teh chances of getting pregnant in any given month are really low he might consider it...especially if you are ready to try things.

Shocked Shocked Shocked

When I first read this I thought..... my husband trying to figure something like that out????? I thought you were saying that he should put the instead cup in place and I thought...what???
I don't think I would even approach him with that. I not only know that he wouldn't want to do that, but I frankly wouldn't want him to do that Wink Wink He would probably put it in backwards or something.
I have thought about using the cup a few times and it't not that bad of an idea. It wouldn't hurt to try, but I'd rather try it out myself before I enlist the help of dh...lol
