Q: Can wounds, scars, or bruises turn into SKIN CANCER?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 11th, 2007
I have fallen off my bike 8 days ago and I hurt myself - I have a few bruises, scratches and wounds that turned into scars - they're not healed yet.
My question is: can these injuries, scars or bruises develop into skin cancer?

Thank you

Skin cancer does not develop from wounds. Skin cancer may develop from massive scars after a long period of time.
