some doctors say to give it before, some say after. use your own judgement or call and ask.

i give it 1/2 hour before, that's what our doctor told me to do.

Well, I was told to give my baby tylenol about 1/2 hour before the appointment. Some of the others say not to use it unless needed. But I always gave it to my daughter before her shots, because not only does it keep the fever away/down, but then her legs don't get so sore either.

I've always given my kids Tylenol about 20-30 minutes before their shots. I also started putting EMLA cream where the shot will be administered. Basically it is a numbing agent (you have to get it by prescription). I'm really not too sure how well it works, being as how my second baby still cried when he got his shots, but I figure it's worth a try. I can't stand when my babies cry/cried, especially when they are in pain.

you had better call you doctor cuz there girls here all disagree on this topic... I have always been to told to give it to them about 30mins before the appt.

I disagree on both the Tylenol, just because it's a fever reducer and the numbing cream. Most doctors will not give the child shots if the temp is too high, and Tylenol reduces it and will cause a wrong reading. I only give my child Tylenol as needed. Not for unnecessary reasons.

Thanks you everyone for your opinions! As this is our first set of shots, I wasn't really sure. I think I will call the doctor just to see what she recommends! I hope they go ok tho, Brayden and I are supposed to go to a mommy/baby bbq on friday also so I hope he doesnt feel too crummy!!
