I started having panice attacks about 3 yrs ago and my in laws are telling my partner that i am making it up. I also suffer with depression and will sit in my room in bed for days at time without even eating. I have 2 small children with my partner and he is as understanding as he can be but doesnt really fully understand, i dont really either. I feel nervous all the time, i have a massive obsession with germs and have to bleach everything in the house at least twice a day (letterbox, door handles, chairs, remote controls, EVERYTHING) I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MY DOCTOR THAT I HAVE MILD ocd,MILD DEPRESSION, IBS and a nerve disorder. I aslo find it impossible to sleep before 3 am and then am sleping on and off all day then. my family is falling apart, i have lost my job and cant travel home to see my family.
Help me, i sometimes feel that i am mental and making it all up like my in laws say but then an attack hits and i am 100% sure that ikm going to vomit and thats my biggest fear, i would rather die than vomit. Confused Sad Question

I have a fear over vomitting too, try think of it similar to sneezing, going to the loo, or coughing- they're all a way for getting germs out of your body. After vomitting we usually just rest and have a nice day, so if you're about to vomit, think of the having nice day part, it'll cheer you up a bit. Also think that you're not alone, tonnes of people vomit. If you think like this you might even love your mom much much more- think about the times she felt like vomitting when she's pregnant with you- morning sickness. The cleaning part, I don't think it's too much of a problem, I always clean, and even after peeing, I look around and see if some toilet water splashed on the floor, then clean it with water. If you also clean the toilet water that splashed out, or want to keep your bathroom cleaner, then I suggest you and other household members to put the toilet seat/ cover down before flushing, this will prevent bacterias and toilet water to splash out. If you still feel depressed, try watching a movie, sitting alone for a long time- reflecting on your life (it'll help to think of funny and happy times, also embarrasing times, this will make you laugh). If it doesn't work, think of buying something, like a new laptop, a new phone, a new PC, or something you'll like very very much. And you'll be able to sleep and be more cheerful.

Thanks, I hope you don't feel as depressed soon, and hope my reply helped. I'm still around 13, so don't expect to get much from the reply, you probably know much more than me! Smile

If it doesn't help, then just tell me and I'll try giving more comments.

People who dont suffer from depression will not fully understand what you are going through and because of that they may judge you on what they see instead of understanding what it is you have. It sounds like that it what your in laws are doing.

Depression can make you seem like you are going crazy and unfortunately we dont always under stand it. The most imporatnt thing is that when we feel what we feel we know it is real no matter what any one else says. It feels very real at the time and this is what we go by.

I would be seeking a medical professionsal to get some kind of help with the depression and ocd. The ocd may be linked to any anxiety attacks you have. Getting help is important as you have 2 little angels to look after and a wonderful partner by the sounds of it that need to make sure you are ok.

Good Luck

Natalie
